Yamaya Kozan

Yamaya studied the Kinpu ryū repertoire under Tsushima Koshō since he was 19 years old, and in Hirosaki, he was a priest at Saruga Shrine, a police officer, and a mayor of the town. In December of 1936, he and Saitō Shudō performed Kinpu ryū pieces for Prince Chichibu in Tokyo.
